From 30th June until 2nd July, the Tesco Summer Collection returns in stores across the UK.
The UK’s biggest food collection is also coming up to its 10-year partnership anniversary with Tesco, FareShare and the Trussell Trust, with donations needed more than ever.
Shoppers can donate food items via donation boxes at the front of the stores and volunteers are also needed to greet shoppers and encourage long-life food donations. The food that gets donated will go out to thousands of charities and community groups and Tesco will also top-up all the food collected with an additional 20% cash donation.
Every single item donated makes such a huge difference, with more than 75% of CFMs (community food members) across the UK reporting not only an increase in demand, but the cost-of-living crisis having a huge impact on many individuals.
There are many ways to get involved at the collection, whether you’d like to lend a hand by volunteering in-store, or you’d like to donate some items from your shopping. To find out more about the collection, or to apply to volunteer at your local store, click here.
